Why doesn't the Prenatal Vitamin contain calcium?Updated a month ago

While calcium is important during pregnancy, Dr. Berg does not recommend supplementation as the first step to meet your needs. His approach is to prioritize calcium from food and support your body’s ability to absorb and use it with key cofactors, such as vitamin D to boost absorption, vitamin K2 to guide calcium to your bones and teeth, and magnesium to keep it balanced and usable.

Because these cofactors optimize how your body manages calcium, extra calcium is not included in Dr. Berg’s Natural Prenatal Vitamin. The formula may still provide small amounts of ingredients such as the fruit and vegetable blend, beef liver powder, and trace mineral complex. If more calcium is needed, your obstetrician can help you determine the best way to supplement for a healthy pregnancy.
