Is Nicotinamide and Niacin the Same?Updated a month ago

Nicotinamide (also known as Niacinamide) is a specific, water-soluble form of Vitamin B3. While it shares the same name as Niacin, it performs different functions in the body and, most notably, does not cause the "Niacin Flush" (redness, itching, or skin warming).

Since we do not sell this product, here are the best practices to ensure you are getting a high-quality supplement.

When purchasing Nicotinamide (the non-flushing form of Vitamin B3)

1. Verify the Specific Form

Ensure the label explicitly states "Nicotinamide" or "Niacinamide."

  • Some products are labeled simply as "Vitamin B3," which could be either form. Always check the Supplement Facts panel for the specific chemical name.

2. Check for Third-Party Certification

Because supplements are not regulated as strictly as medications, look for seals from independent testing organizations.

4. Manufacturing Standards

Only purchase from manufacturers that follow cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices). This ensures the product was made in a clean, temperature-controlled facility with standardized protocols for every batch.
